Had a fantastic time on my vacation here. Loved grabbing some delicious Asian food at the restaurant by the beach. 🌴

Very comfortable traditional Mexican-styled resort with excellent location to enjoy the local restaurants, beach and pool areas. By far the nicest resort on the beach in Mazatlan. Emerald Bay is newer and grander, but not as conveniently located and rather isolated. Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan had everything we look for in a resort. I believe all of the rooms are oceanview. I particularly like the fact that they have two pool areas - one was away from the activities area and the noise that goes along with it. Although many people like those things and they were happy too. Also, they have lots of poolside umbrellas and beach palapas. They don't bother you with lots of annoying rules, have free WiFi, a/c, and the Jacuzzi is actually warm. One of the nicest vacations we've taken in Mexico in 25 years!

Not a complaint about the hotel, but a note about the area in general. We found Mazatlan to be a very nice area, the local people are very friendly but the hard times have made them pretty persistent to try to sell you stuff you don't need. Lots of beach vendors, but they stay back from the palapas unless you invite them over. On the streets, the timeshare hustlers are pretty thick and hungry. About the only way to get them to leave you alone is to keep walking and ignore them. Or you can do what we did and attend all of them and make some cash if you can stand to listen to presentations, then say no thanks.

    location

reservation desk was rude. Stated pointedly that I used a booking site and I think they punished us for it/ We've come to this hotel for a number of years and this was the worse room and treatment we have ever gotten. Doubting whether we'll go back.

They complimentary upgraded me to a master suite (one bedroom with two bathrooms). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The older first section that was built is my favorite.

The newer section has many rooms on the street side and there is a little traffic noise and it is farther to the restaurants on site however this does not detract from the location and the property that much.

Some of the staff were excellent, especially the waiters at the pool and beach. The rooms were pleasant and the physical plant was attractive. Transportation was easy to find from the hotel.

Our room was badly in need of maintenance. The kitchen and bathroom lights hummed when turned on. The plunger on the bathtub, which makes the water go up and come out of the shower, came off in my hand twice. Of the three lamps, each one has a crooked lampshade and one of them also had a burned lampshade. One of the lamps didn't come on because the bulb was burned out and hadn't been replaced. The drawers on the left hand side under the tv didn't close properly. The sliding doors to the patio and the sliding doors in the closet were off their tracks. There was a ball of hair under the sink counter in the bathroom that stayed there for 5 days because the maid didn't sweep under there. Each of these problems could have been noticed by the housekeeping staff and fixed before the room was rented.

A great selection of exceptional breakfast items to choose from. The rooms with a refrigerator and beautiful views, for instance. Location short walk to Cilantros beachside restaurant, an Asian / Sushi bar at night, and Deer Island, Patti and the front desk.
